Today we study a pour that riffs like a vintage Les Paul—Blackened, born from the brain of Metallica and the late, great Dave Pickerell, now carried forward by Rob Dietrich.
Nose: Apricot leads vocals, backed by bourbon basics—vanilla, caramel, and oak—with a flan solo that sneaks in like a backstage pass. Not too flashy, but solid tone.
Palate: Fruity and full of swagger—raspberry, blackberry, apricot, even a touch of apple. Sweet, but doesn’t go full pop. Think Zeppelin, not bubblegum.
Finish: Dr. Pepper, brandied cherries, and brown sugar jam until the oak cuts in with a crunchy riff. Warm, fast, satisfying—like a killer encore.
Final grade? B+ with extra credit for stage presence.
