Blackened x Wes Henderson isn’t just a whiskey, it’s basically a concept album in a bottle. Following the Willett collab, Metallica went and teamed up with the guy who co-founded Angel’s Envy — so yeah, expectations were already tuned to eleven.

This thing’s finished in white port casks, which feels almost sneaky. You’re expecting the usual bourbon heaviness, and instead you get this blast of lemon and pear like the opening riff of “For Whom the Bell Tolls.” Bright, citrusy, sharp — then the bourbon core kicks in with caramel, vanilla, and toasted oak, laying down the rhythm section.

The real fun is the contrast: sweet fruit one second, peppery spice the next. It’s basically a whiskey mosh pit. Everyone’s colliding, but somehow it works in perfect chaos.

At 116.2 proof, this is cask strength, but it hits like a power chord — bold, resonant, and lingering without being harsh. The finish lingers long, smoldering, like feedback ringing out after the last note of a power ballad.

Bottom line: Blackened x Wes Henderson is bourbon with a solo. Loud, bold, a little surprising, and built to keep your taste buds headbanging long after the glass is empty. Drink it loud.
