Nose: Starts off like you’ve just stepped into a tennis club after a Highland rainstorm—rubber soles, a can of new tennis balls, with a cheeky hint of sauerkraut. But don’t run away yet! Give it a minute and you’ll catch candied lemons, bandages, and asphalt mellowing into jammy apricots and nectarine. Sweet and strange, in the best way.

Palate: Thick and oily enough to coat your tongue like a warm plaid blanket. Ash, baking spices, grilled beef, charred oak, resin, and a wee bonfire smoke tiptoe through, with just a wink of salted caramel to keep you honest.

Finish: Long, drying, and proper peaty, with rubber and medicinal smoke lingering like an old friend who won’t leave the ceilidh.

Verdict: It’s robust, it’s bold, and it’s got character without screaming “look at me, I’m an Islay!” Glenturret’s done a fine job bottling something approachable yet intriguingly different from your usual coastal peat bombs. A dram that’ll make you grin, sniff, and sip like a true Highlander.
