The Flavor:
There was caramel. There was vanilla. Spice, too. The kind that lingers on the tongue and stays in your mind. A hint of salt in the air — or maybe in the glass. Hard to say. The sea does that. It leaves things behind.

Some called it sweet. Some called it savory. It was both. Life is like that. The brine was there if you looked for it. Not shouting. Just there, like an old man at the bar who’s seen things.

The Smoothness and Finish:
It went down easy. Too easy. You could drink it in silence and let it warm your chest. You could drink it in the dark, alone, and feel like you were not alone. The finish was long. Not loud. Just there. Salt. Spice. Memory.

The Ocean:
They aged it at sea. That meant something. The waves knocked it around, gave it character. Or maybe it didn’t. Maybe the story mattered more than the science. That’s alright. A good story can do things science can’t.

Final Words:
It was a bourbon made by men who knew the sea. Or at least respected it. That mattered to me. I’d drink it again. Maybe with a friend. Maybe without.
