According to Heaven Hill, Old Fitzgerald 7 Year Old Bottled-in-Bond Bourbon will be the brand’s “new signature expression.” It comes 155 years after the “trademark honoring John E. Fitzgerald, the namesake of Old Fitzgerald, was first introduced.”
Nose: Fruit basket to the face! Apricot, peach, and orange scream “summer picnic,” while cinnamon, oak, and leather show up like the adults supervising. Surprisingly fancy but still fun.
Palate: Starts like a snack aisle—honey graham crackers and snickerdoodle cookies tag-team your taste buds. Cinnamon, vanilla, and dried fruit chime in for a dessert party. Predictable? Sure. But hey, it works.
Finish: Raisin and cinnamon wave goodbye, leather and toasted oak offer a firm handshake, and honey smooths things over. Slightly dry at the end, but in a “sip me again” kind of way.
