This limited edition Barbados rum finish is affectionately nicknamed “Wild Wild Rum” and the name fits perfectly.
This isn’t bourbon that took a vacation. This is bourbon that missed its flight home on purpose.
Bottled at a sturdy100 proof, it strolls in confident — boots dusty, shirt unbuttoned one button too far, smelling faintly of molasses and good decisions made poorly.
Nose: Vanilla and caramel hit first — classic bourbon charm. Then the rum barrels start whispering sweet tropical nonsense: ripe banana, toasted coconut, a little apple, a little oak. It smells like a Kentucky rickhouse threw a beach party.
Palate: Velvety. Like, suspiciously smooth. Molasses rolls in thick, followed by toasted coconut and ripe fruit doing a slow island sway. Cinnamon and clove show up fashionably late to remind you this is still a whiskey with backbone.
It’s rich without being sticky. Sweet without being syrupy. Basically bourbon wearing a linen shirt.
Finish: Long, warm, and just spicy enough to keep it interesting. The sweetness lingers, but so do the baking spices — like the last glow of a bonfire after the steel drums pack up.
Overall: The rum influence doesn’t hijack the wagon — it just adds better scenery. This is balance done right. Decadent, expressive, and dangerously easy to sip neat… though it’ll absolutely shine in a cocktail if you’re feeling adventurous.
“Wild Wild Rum” isn’t a gimmick. It’s what happens when bourbon loosens its tie and learns to dance.
