Before you browse, shop, or otherwise hang out on papalous.shop, please take a moment to read through these Terms & Conditions. They explain how we do business, how we protect both of us, and what you can expect when you order from us.
By visiting our site or placing an order, you agree to these Terms. (If anything here doesn’t sit right, that’s okay — just don’t use the site or give us a call.)
Who We Are
Papa Lou’s Wine & Spirits (DLSLQ, LLC) is a family-run California business that takes wine, whiskey, and your privacy very seriously — but not ourselves.
When we say “we,” “our,” or “us,” we’re talking about Papa Lou’s. When we say “you,” we mean, well… you — our customer, visitor, or fellow lover of good bottles.
Age & Responsibility
Let’s get this out of the way:
You must be 21 years or older to order or receive alcoholic beverages from us. No exceptions, no loopholes. Every shipment that contains alcohol will require an adult signature upon delivery.
We don’t sell to minors. Ever. Not in person, not online, not in a parallel universe.
If you’re using this site, you’re confirming that you’re of legal drinking age where you live.
Our Products & Services
At papalous.shop, you’ll find wines, spirits, and a few other things that make good company even better. We may also offer subscriptions, memberships, or event tickets from time to time — anything designed to make your experience with us more enjoyable.
We do our best to keep everything current and accurate, but vintages, availability, and prices can change quickly. We reserve the right to update or discontinue items at any time. (The wine world moves fast — we just try to keep up.)
Ordering & Payment
When you place an order on our site, here’s what happens:
- You fill out your info and payment details.
- You hit “Place Order.”
- We send you an email confirming we got it.
- Once we verify everything, your bottles are packed and shipped.
We accept most major payment methods. All payments are processed securely through our trusted partners, and your info stays protected.
If, for any reason, we can’t fulfill your order (maybe something sold out or wasn’t available), we’ll let you know right away and issue a prompt refund.
Shipping & Delivery
We ship to where it’s legal to do so. Some states have restrictions — we wish it weren’t that way, but we follow the law.
All alcohol shipments require an adult signature at delivery. Please make sure someone 21+ is available to sign. (The carriers are strict about this, and they won’t leave a box of wine on the porch — no matter how trustworthy your porch looks.)
Returns & Refunds
We want you to love every bottle you get from us.
If something isn’t right — damaged in transit, wrong product, corked wine — let us know at [email protected] and we’ll make it right.
Unfortunately, we can’t accept returns of opened bottles just because they weren’t your taste (we wish we could, but you understand).
Privacy & Data
We respect your privacy as much as we respect what’s in the bottle.

- We only collect what’s needed to process your order and stay in touch.
- We never sell or share your info.
- We use secure encryption to protect all transactions.
SMS & Email Communications
If you opt in to receive text messages or emails from us, we promise not to blow up your inbox (or phone). We’ll just send you:
- Order confirmations and shipping updates
- Delivery reminders
- The occasional event invite or special offer
You can opt out anytime by replying STOP to a text or unsubscribing via email. Standard message and data rates may apply.
Trademarks & Copyright
All names, images, and materials on papalous.shop are either owned by us or used with permission. Please don’t reuse, copy, or repost our content without asking first — we’ll usually say yes if it’s for something cool.
Your Account
If you create an account, please keep your login info private. You’re responsible for what happens in your account. If you notice any suspicious activity, contact us right away so we can help secure it.
Legal Stuff (But in Plain English)
- We’re not liable for any damages that come from using our website or products beyond what’s required by law.
- We can’t guarantee perfection. The site, products, and all info are provided “as is.”
- We reserve the right to change prices, terms, or features anytime — but we’ll always aim to be transparent and fair.
If part of these Terms doesn’t hold up legally, the rest still applies.
Governing Law
We’re based in Calistoga, California, and any disputes or claims will be handled under California law — ideally over a glass of something nice, but if it comes to court, it’ll be in California.
Storage Policy
If you buy something and ask us to hold it for a while, we’ll store it free for 60 days. After that, a small storage fee per bottle may apply. We’ll always notify you first before that happens.
